And just like that we say goodbye to another wonderful 6th class and group of children. We have watched you grow, find yourselves, learn new things and reach your full potential, which we hope you will continue to reach in secondary school and beyond. You are all great role models and amazing human beings. We have laughed, cried, joked around and in the spare time got some school work done!!!! And we have enjoyed every moment of it. 

The last 8 years have been an absolute delight and yes to sound really cheesy, this is not a final goodbye but until we see you again. And we hope to see that day soon for that catch up.

Best of luck in secondary school and whatever you do in the coming years! 

It's that time of the year again: Sports Day and as per usual it was a hit with everyone. 
The day started off with our stations where 8 stations and each team rotated every 10 minutes. 
Then we had a great competitive game of Olympic Handball. 
To cap off the day we held our ever enjoyable races. 

In the middle of the day Tomas Carrol came to the school to hand out the Cumman na mBunscol medals for football and hurling to our Senior Room (see post on Senior Room page for photos).  

And a massive thank you to our parents association for organising the Ice Cream Van. The children were treated to ice-creams and slushies. Both very much needed on this very hot day.

Finally, a big thank you to Ms. Gath for organising this action packed Sports Day. Everything ran so smoothly and everyone had a brilliant day. 

And apologies for the billions of photos. As usual I went a little mad taking all these photos. SO many great action shots and so many great moments captured. 

As part of out School Self Evaluations in promotion of Reading for Enjoyment and Pleasure, the Scholastic Book Fair visited the school. For the last week the children have enjoyed visiting the Middle Room and browsing the book cases to see what books were on offer to buy. There were books for everyone or every sort and the excitement on some of the children's faces when they saw a book they wanted was priceless! 

During Lent every year our 6th class run our annual Lenten Fundraiser. Each year the school chooses three charities to raise funds for. Every morning the children from all classes buy raffle tickets to enter the weekly Friday draw to win some prizes. All tickets are then included in the big end of term draw that took place the day we got the Easter holidays.

The three charities the children chose were:

• Sponsoring a child in Kenya
• The Aisling Murphy Memorial Fund
• Join Our Boys -  which is an organisation dedicated to raising awareness of the catastrophic muscle wasting disease  - Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. 

​The fundraiser was well supported by all in the school and the children raised just over €1,000, which will be split between the three charities. 
A big well done to our 6th class for running the fundraiser with the support and help of Ms. Flynn and Ms. Mahon.

Circus Corvinni came to the school today and they put on a pheromonal show for everyone. The children absolutely enjoyed every moment of it. Have a look through the photos below. And as you all know by now me, a camera and taking billions of photos but have a look through them - there are some amazing shots of the children's reactions that are priceless - especially in the 'A Very Enthusiastic Audience!!!' and 'Trumpet' set of photos! 

Saving the best until last. When you're not allowed to play a trumpet and you just keep pulling them out of thin air to play!!!
