In our Infant Room, the Gruffalo is a big hit. We loved the story, learned lots of new words and then made our scary Gruffalo masks.
Our Junior Infants had great fun doing their finger painting. The theme was autumn, and the children had to use their fingers and paint to create trees which would show all the different coloured leaves we see during this time. It was messy and they loved it!
First class made these fantastic sponge paintings of Polar Bears. Did you know .......... a Polar Bear's home is called a den?

Lá Fléile Pádraig Sona Duit!!
Children in our Junior Room are ready to celebrate Lá Fhéile Pádraig!
Each day here in the Junior Room the children have the opportunity to take part in Aistear, which allows them to learn through play. They are placed in different groups and each day, the group goes to a different station. They engage in imaginative play, construction, puzzles and free writing or drawing. They work together, co-operate, communicate and make lots of different things together. Here are some pictures to show you what we do!
Our Halloween Silhouettes
First class enjoyed making their scary, Halloween silhouettes. They used lots of Halloween colours like red, yellow, orange and black to make them look as spooky as possible. They displayed great imagination and creativity and I think we can all agree that they turned out fantastically well! We have some very talented artists on our hands here in Coolanarney.
