The children were exploring the topic of volcanos: the children learned about Pompeii, the features of a volcano and investigated the chemical reaction between acid and carbonate to mimic a volcanic explosion. The children had lots of fun creating their own volcanos out of clay and carrying out the experiment.
The children earned a well deserved treat on Christmas week - after a fantastic effort with our Readathon - the children earned hot chocolate , popcorn and enjoyed watching the "Little Rascals" movie.
Since September, the children have been reading books from different genres and ticking off each category as they completed the book. There were various prizes for the amount of books read and the children put in a fantastic effort! Well done boys and girls! Christmas Performance 2021A fantastic performance of a variety of Christmas songs using the boomwhackers. The children were learning songs using them this past term with Ms. Killeen.
Well done to everyone on a brilliant performance and a big thank you to Ms. Killeen for all her hard work. A selection of the wonderful art the children have created for Christmas. The children used a range of concepts and skills to create their art and they should be very proud of their fantastic work.
This week we have been reading about "Space Exploration" in our English book. We learned about the first person in space, the first woman in space, the Moon Landing and the Space Race! In their pods, the children created a short drama based around the information in the book. They got very creative from putting their own spin on space exploration, as I can't for the life of me remember Buzz Lightyear landing on the moon!!! Today we have a Zoom with Tullamore Library where they read a story to us. We were read a Christmas chapter from one of the Harry Potter books and a story about a pig at Christmas!! |
