It was a bittersweet day today as we all gathered to say goodbye to another 6th class. Watching you all over the last 8 years has been an absolute delight. You've made us all laugh, cry, get frustrated with you but at the end of the day you have all make a huge mark on everyone here in the school. 
It has been a pleasure watching you grow these past 8 years. Teaching you, developing your life skills and having fun with you all. You may be leaving us but we will never forget you or what you have contributed to the school. You are all amazing young adults and we wish you all the very best in Secondary School and the years ahead! 

The children in the Junior Room had an amazing time on their school tour to Playtown. 
There were so many fun activities there from pretending we were in jail, to the doctors office, to a radio station to building and driving things! 

All the children from 1st to 6th class travelled to Athlone on their school tour to Athlone IT where they took part in the Let's Go schools tour. The day was really enjoyable and was a hit with everyone! 

​The children were split into two groups - Middle room and Senior Room and were brought off to do many of the fun activities. The activities ranged from races on the indoor track, wrecking ball, slide, teambuilding exercises, air ball, VR headset, Zorb and ladder climbing. It was a jam-packed day everyone had so much fun. 

But the highlight was definitely the stop off in the Service station outside Athlone where they ordered from McDonalds and bought every single sweet thing in the shop! The sugar high kicked in just as we arrived back at the school!

A big well done to our three Badminton teams, under the direction of Judy Bryant, who participated in the Offaly Schools Competition in Clonaslee. The represented Coolanarney very well bringing home a silver and bronze medal. 

The school is this year participating in the Tullamore Credit Union Pride of Place Competition and has commenced the establishment of a small school garden. Pupils in all classes have been involved in organising planting areas, planting seeds and shrubs, watering and caring for new growth. Infants have sown sunflowers, to take home in June, and nasturtiums for the school garden beds. Middle and senior classes have set up and readied raised planting beds and planted potatoes, onions, lettuce, carrots and peas. 6th class have also been busy digging and preparing beds and planting shrubs and plants. ​
