HurlingWell done to the Coolanarney hurling team (6th, 5th, 4th class) who reached the Cumann na mBunscol group hurling final versus Clonlisk NS. The game was played in St. Brendan’s Park, Birr, on a very wet Tuesday 21st May and despite valiant efforts, the team were unsuccessful on this occassion. They played a great game, however, and fought bravely against a strong team, right up until the final whistle. Thanks to Miss Flynn and Daithi Feighery for training the team and organising the games. Thanks also to Tom and Thomas Doolan who provided hot food for all the children in the school after the match. It was very welcome on this cold wet day. Their continued support of the school and supply of treats to the children is very much appreciated. Also, thanks to KK GAA club who presented sets of sliotars to the school in advance of Tuesday’s hurling final. Their support in providing training resources and coach each week is much appreciated.
