School Tour 2019

Bunratty and St. John's Castle

This year the senior school tour was to Limerick and Clare. We visited Bunratty Folk Park first. Here we saw some really old breeds of Irish animals and met craftspeople who taught us how thatching and churning butter was done in olden times. We also  got to see typical houses of different classes of people of the 19th century. From Bunratty, we headed to St. John's Castle where we learned of the Norman conquest of Ireland. We saw a swordfight and how people were punished in the stocks. From the top of the castle we could see much of the city of Limerick.
We had a great day!

School Tour 2018

We had a great day in Limerick taking part in an Adventure Camp.

Senior Tour in Dublin and Maynooth

Children from second to sixth class  had a very enjoyable  and busy school tour this year. We headed for Dublin and arrived in the Phoenix Park just in time to have a bite to eat before entering the zoo. We enjoyed a very comprehensive tour of the African Plains and the children had the opportunity to see lots of different animals and learn of their status in the world. The children were shocked to find that many of the animals are now endangered species and close to becoming extinct.
After bidding farewell to our guide, we had some lunch before setting off in smaller groups to explore the rest of the zoo and see some of the other animals on show. The red panda was a must see for most children!

Our next destination was Base Entertainment in Maynooth where the children played bowling for an hour before having their chips and nuggets.

We all had a lovely day and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Everyone behaved themselves impeccably and this added to the atmosphere of the tour.
We hope you enjoy some of the photos of our day!
