PointillismThe past few weeks we have been learning about a technique in Art called Pointillism. We learned about the background of it, what it involves, its impact on Art in history and the person who started it, Georges Seurat. We looked at some famous paintings in this style and then the children took inspiration in it to create their own painting sin this style. Addition2nd Class have been doing Addition in Maths this week and we have been using cubes to make number sentences. Settled Back In!!!The new school is well underway and it has been great seeing everyone again. SO many smiling faces on the first day which didn't last long until we stared work!!! 2nd class have settled really well into the middle room and it has been like they have always been here!! Isn't it great to have your sibling in the same room???!!!End of year Performances
As another school year comes to a close, we have had a busy year with Ms. Killeen during music. We've learned some great songs on the tin whistles, sang some great songs and through all of that learned about a number of music concepts and literacy.
Here are two performances we have been working on the past few weeks. And if this is anything to go by we are in for an amazing treat and performances during our upcoming Christmas show in December!!! Senior Tour to Navan Adventure CenterThis year the Middle and Senior rooms went to Navan Adventure Center where the children got to do loads of different outdoor activities. From Laser Tag to Football Golf to an Obstacle Course there was not a lull in the day. The rain held off for most of the day apart from one or two big showers which didn’t put a downer on the day. On the way home we stopped off at Supermacs in the Kinnegad Plaza where the children were well fed and hyped up on sugar too! It was a brilliant tour and everyone seemed to go home happy!
