The children enjoyed all the measuring and used their maths skills so well. HurlingThe children have been enjoying their hurling sessions on a Friday. They have been working so hard on their hurling skills and working together during the game. A big thank you to Sinead for giving her time to come into the school and provide these great sessions to the children! And see all the wonderful Halloween costumes the children wore for our Halloween dress up day! We have a lot of pop stars in the making!!! Autumn Hunt!We have been learning all about Autumn these past few weeks. We have learned about the different signs of Autumn all around us - from the leaves changing colour, some animals we might see and lots of conkers and acorns falling from trees! We went exploring the school yard today in search of signs of Autumn and we found loads of different sings of Autumn! 1st Class have been working really hard these past few weeks in both Maths and English. We have been doing a lot of hands on activities, learning together and playing games to understand the content. Who says learning can't be fun??!! We played some card games such as Go Fish and Snap to help us recognise our sight words and we played a matching game after we learned about capital letters and lowercase letters. Learning Through PlayAistear is the highlight of everyone's day in the Junior Room. We get the chance to play together at different stations each day. Each station ties into a specific area from the curriculum where we can develop our skills and learn through play. |
